About Us
The Canton Community Health Fund, Inc (CCHF) is a private, non-profit Foundation that accepts gifts and bequests from individuals, organizations and businesses for the benefit of all Canton residents. Memorial donations to the Canton Visiting Nurse Association (CVNA), were the financial basis that established the Fund, when the CVNA joined with the McLean Visiting Nurses and Community Services Fund in 1997.
CCHF is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who oversee investment of the Foundation’s assets, Fund programming, and annual distribution of grants to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations that enhance the health, safety and well-being of Canton residents. CCHF also oversees the Dr. Diters Memorial Scholarship Fund, that annually distributes financial awards to graduating seniors from Canton High School, as well as other Canton residents enrolled in vocational, certification or college programs in a health-related field.
CCHF has sponsored speakers; underwritten health, wellness, safety programming/equipment; and funded grants to many community organizations including: Canton Food Bank, Focus on Canton, Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department, Canton Police Department, Canton Emergency Fuel Bank, FAVARH, Canton High School’s Substance Free Graduation Party, Roaring Brook Nature Center, SpiritedHorse Therapeutic Riding Center, just to name a few.
